You need to dial in focus length when using the 1,7. When using 300mm
I usually dial in the closest  adequate fl. witch is 500mm, not 425mm.

But it seems the camera recognizes the TC it self, and communicates
with the lens, as long as it is an A/F//FA/DA-lens. In other words,
when setting lens aperture to 2,8, the camera says f:4,5.
