I shouldn't answer for Rick, but Brugge, Belgium is called the Venice
of the north.
I drove there one Sunday 20+ years ago.
It's an ancient city where the old city walls have been replaced by a ring road.
Inside the ring, things are pretty much medieval times.
I was really struck by the Cathedral calling the faithful to worship
on Sunday morning.
All else was closed until noon.
In deference to WWII, a 6 lane highway has been built to Bruge
(costal) from Brussels
(you never know when you'll have to refight the last war).
Weeds were growing up thru the 3rd lane.
