A simple answer. A fellow PDMLer buys a new camera. They take 10-20 shots with it. It is now a used camera. Might have devalued by $1. Said PDMLer sells used camera to you. "But, honey, I bought it used! I had to pay almost full price because it was in such good condition, but still I got a real deal!" I don't know what this would do to the warranty status though.
