Thanks, Bob W. & Boris. The location is between Foster and Montrose Beach
off of Lake Michigan here in Chicago. I think I forgot to mention, that
those 2 big splashes were actually sliding along the curve of the rocks
there. It's pretty cool to watch. I really want to do more of this kind of
lake shooting. It's so much fun--even when you don't know what you're doing

Only just seen these. That's a very interesting location.
Here's an interesting tip I learned when escaping from Devil's Island (or
at
least, I read it in Papillon). Waves have a pattern. You have to watch
them
for a while until you can tell when the big ones are coming, where they
will
hit, what the splash will be like and (useful for escaping from remote
penal
colonies) how the undertow works.
