The K20D manual states: Pg. 151 - "The contact of the X-sync socket is
not splash or dust resistant. Attach the provided Sync Socket P2
socket cap when not in use."
And don't use old high voltage flash with this camera, or it will go
'poof'. When's the last time one of those was made?
