I agree with what Artur says, in terms of probably having to go to a pro lab if you want to give particular instructions as to how you want them to deal with your prints. And, unfortunately, there is indeed a price to pay for that. But, one thing you can do is go to a pro lab, but only get them to do contacts. Way cheaper than developing and prints, and that way you can get a better idea of what your prints will look like "unmanipulated" by a great big automatic machine. You can then get whichever ones interest you from the contacts printed up. And, you'll likely be getting much better quality work done in the bargain.
