Depends on if you are going to be mostly out in the country or mostly in
narrow city streets. Assuming country, I would go with the 24, 50, 100, and
a 1.4 or 1.7 extender. Assuming city, I would go 24, 35, 50, 85, and a 2x
for the occasional long shot. Part of my reasoning is that I seldom use a
macro except out in the "wilds", and like the 85 so much that I would opt
for that always if I thought that I probably would not need the macro.

I might carry the 28-70, but would probably leave it at home in the
"to-be-sold-on-eBay-someday-real-soon-now box".
