Indeed!
I recently saw a series of photos from the abandoned coal mines at
Barentsburg on Spitsbergen, initiating some of the same response with
me. And come to think of it, some of the same applies to Ralf
Radermacher's photos of the waning metal industries in Belgium/Germany
too. In all cases, specialised enterprises that carry historical
nuances I know that I miss.
