Great Egret. We've got a heron-form all white wading bird. If it was a snowy egret, the bill would be black and the feet -- not the legs, just the feet -- would be yellow. White morph Great Blue Heron has a heavier bill, and buffy-grey legs. Juvenile Little Blue Heron has a grayish/greenish or possibly pinkish bill. White morph Reddish Egret has a dark bill with some pink in it. Yellow bill and black legs and feet and long breeding plumes over the tail is Great Egret. > I have posted a sequence - and am hoping that you all can give me > some ideas on what to do with it - Keep a sequence, or pick one or a > few - any suggestions would be appreciated, as well as what you think > overall. You need a longer lens. Other than that, very well done. I think bkd20_0473, bkd20_0479, and bkd20_0492 are the especially strong shots. The launch-and-neck-fold sequence will be of interest to birders. -- Graydon -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
