I hear you! The differential in cost is inexcusable, but local warranty may be more of an issue with lenses given the apparent potential for SDM failure (assuming you're considering SDM lenses). Me Kennedy did mention on the DPR forums that CRK will price match any legitimate O/S prices (including shipping, exchange rates and GST etc).
