Now I'm concerned about her. She could be in hospital, or any number of situations that are not good. Is there anyone who could go check up on this woman?

Keith, if you know her phone number, you might try calling an operator and finding out the status of her phone. Turned off? Voicemail full? Defective? Hasn't paid her bill? Skype? Whatever. See what you can get.

This afternoon, I tried dialing her landline in N. Calif., and after one ring, it went dead. I held for a full minute and no further sounds.
