I'd make the second image a square format to eliminate the blank area to
the
left.
Going for the rule of thirds, but every one seems to think other wise.:-)
For me the rule of thirds doesn't make blank areas ok by themselves.

The first image offers a nice subject, well captured, but the background

distracting - needs to be more OOF.
I can re shoot this one, I;ll play with the back ground.

In the last image, more of the plant needs to be infocus.
Playing with the tak 105 on this shot, at F8 and 4' away. I can go
back with relative ease.

Hi all.
The Columbines and wild flowers are popping up now, so i shot some.
They never felt a thing.:-)

Wild flower, unknown, near one of my bus stops.

Same flower, different lens.

Columbine and first wild flower shot, shot with the K10D, DA F 50 F2.8
and Slik 700 pro tripod.
The last wild flower, K10D, tripod and smc tak 105 f2.8. Quite a bit
of difference in colour interpretations.
