the 600mm as carry-on luggage to Argentina.
Try before hand to get the dimensions of the overhead compartments of the
type plane you'll be flying.
I've found on smaller planes I've been able to hand deliver my 600 to the
baggage handler & have had no problems.

I can relate to that.
My situation is exactly the same; except the camera bag. I have
resigned to the idea different bags for different situations. And I'm
still not sure I'm covered for the situation of taking a kit including
the 600mm as carry-on luggage to Argentina. Guess I won't find out for
sure until I try. :)
