I use PC Inspector File Recovery from Convar, it isn't perfect, and I haven't tried to recover DNG files or PEFs from anything but a *ist-D or Ds so far but it will pull any recoverable files off the card. It doesn't recognize PEFs as a file type, but it will recover them as TIFs, which you can then rename.

I've in big shit. Formatted a card by mistake. Only five shots at it,
but I think they are interesting.
My first thought was a Sandisk disk, but I can't find the damn thing.
Any other suggestions please? Something downloadable and free?

The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or
drinking; he can ruin himself with gambling. If he does he is certainly a damn
fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a
free man any more than a dog.
