Since in Pentax cameras anyway, when you're in live view, and you press the shutter button A.) The shutter closes. B.) The electronics switch to exposure mode, C.) The shutter opens, and the exposure is made. D.) The shutter closes. I guess the inherent limitation on sync speed is the same as the normal X sync.
