I guess it depends where you are. A week or so back I spent half of the day (my wife's birthday, no less!) at an R/C model aircraft meet. There weren't a whole lot of cameras around; apart from one guy with a Canon+400/2.8 on a Wimberley rig I only saw a few other DSLRs there. I did, however, see two guys toting K1000s. I was trying (and mostly failing) to track small objects, some of which were flying at over 150mph*, with my 300+1.7x, and even then most of the time all I could see was a small object in the middle of a large expanse of sky. One of the K1000 shooters was standing fairly near me, trying to shoot the same subjects with a 135mm (some third-party brand I didn't even recognise), so I let him use my 80-200 for a couple of rolls of film. * Scale model jet aircraft, with real jet engines, burning around a gallon of kerosene in a five-minute flight. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
