Doug, I just got the below into my mailbox when replying to a msg from the list. Some archiving bot is apparently exceeding its storage quota... Dunno if it has any direct connection with the PDML as such, but thought you'd like to know. Could become annoying if all of us got one of those each time we post something to the list... :-)

Well it's available from the website of both Exiftool and the exiv2 library. Reverse-engineered and based on user feedback I assume: http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/TagNames/Pentax.html#LensType My point is that Pentax would probably gain as a small brand by publishing the code-to-description mappings themselves. It would vouch for a faster implementation in all software.
