On IQ, it would be a fairly even match. Otherwise the D300s will run rings around the K-7, just as it does to the A700, E-3 and 40D/50D. The D300s's performance is well above anything else in the sub-$2k market, it's essentially a DX-crop D700, except it's faster without the battery grip (7fps instead of 5). -- M.
