The DS with the DA 40 is very small and "pocketable" in a coat with large pockets. Not true of the K10D with the FA 20-35.

They're just too bloody small to handle nicely. I've also found that large bodies and small lenses can be awkward to work with. This led me to buying Nikon's largest mid-speed 50 for my F2a, my pancakes were just too little for it. -- M.
