He was adopted through a public adoption agency in New Jersey, and supported the agency with signs in his Wendy's franchises and elsewhere, bearing his picture and stating that he was adopted through the agency as a child and that many other children, some of whose pictures were on the posters, were also available. It was quite an effective campaign, and I believe was funded largely by Thomas or Wendy's.
