Cotty, Thanks for your 'voluble' response - I must admit I'm often considered to a 'man of few words' - but what gems they are!
The reason I chose an MZ-3 (and subsequently the MX) was essentially one of size and quality. I 'came back' to photography a couple of years ago and when thinking about what to get, the 'Leica dream' kept popping into my head. A Leica was (obviously) out of the question so I then considered the Contax and Konica rangefinder cameras - less expensive but similarly featured. Having used SLRs previously I found that 'the rangefinder' didn't feel right and at about the same time Pentax launched the MZ-3 with the Limited lens. I tried the MZ-3 and I was hooked and the rest (as they say) is history. In terms of digital, I've yet to be convinced - I'm a little old fashioned perhaps. However, I do scan my slides for loading to the web, producing CD slide shows for the family and printing. I use a C***n FS2710 scanner and C***n printer which I'm very pleased with. I use a program called Picture Window (www.dl-c.com) which is 'like' Photoshop but a lot cheaper and much more directed towards photography. Enough rambling - equipment talk is OK but you can't beat getting out and taking photos (he says sitting in front of his computer screen).
