That old joke has been a puzzle for me since the first time I heard it: I still don't understand what's so funny about it...
But it is rather funny, that in Quitman, GA, USA ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quitman,_Georgia ), local ordinance prohibits chickens from crossing the road.
