This is pretty much my first chance to sit down at a computer since
Saturday. To make a long story short, I bartered taking photos at a
dance workshop for a huge discount.

I like the K-7, I *want* the K-7, right now I can't buy the K-7,
I didn't win the K-7.
Still not king.

The K-7 is slightly larger than my K100, and a lot denser.
The focus seems to work pretty well.
I realized that you just can't learn much about gear playing around
with it in a hotel room.
It is somewhat tempting to buy one at Fry's and return it after
spending a weekend putting it through its paces under real life
conditions. But there are two problems with that:
1) It's slightly less than ethical
2) Returning the K-7

Where John liked the 15/4, I liked the 14/2.8. I've realized that I
like the same things in lenses and women. Not wide, sharp and fast.

The SDM focus is a bit eerie. I didn't notice anything focusing super
fast, but it was quiet.

In my current financial position, I took care not to play too much
with the lenses.

The topic of my pocket camera came up, and people marvelled at the
lens cap on my DA 40. I forget who told me about it, but I'm certain
that the sunshade had to have been designed with that in mind. Mark
even took pictures of it.

The first step is learning to take great photos,
the second step is learning to throw away ones that are merely good.
