The term "War Baby" refers to the illegitimate children born of
soldiers in occupation of or during battle in allied and non-allied
countries during that conflict.
It can also refer to legitimate children born from hasty wartime
marriages. Some young couples decided not to wait until the war was over
to marry when the young soldier, sailor or marine got orders.
If they were lucky, a brief honeymoon might result in a small photograph
showing up 9 months later in a V-mail delivered somewhere on some
strange foreign shore.
