Ann, I think the big hotel must be gone. The building with the bell tower looks vaguely like a California mission to me. Did a search and there were missions in Florida, tons of them. So I can't go through them all, and it would be a lot for anyone to go through. :-)

It does look like that... sweet of you to even try a search -
I had only hoped it was someplace someone had been and remembered..
didn't really think or expect anyone to do my googling for me ... but using the word "mission" - I had not done that yet... might combine it with the most probably locations...
But it's a suggestion.

You might also figure out what the most likely big hotel chains were back then. Then see if they are still in business, ie the chains, and go to their sites for historical information. But that hotel, if it was a chain, is probably is gone as a chain too. HTH, Marnie
hehe - I looked at HTH and at first thought "hit the hay" ... then the lightbulb went on over my head.

-- the hotel wasn't a chain ... and the first letter of the first word was "R" I knew it as a young woman ... I just thought it might have been so well known it was still there or someone might just recognize it because they had been there themselves.

again, thanks for the effort - you and my other compadres here
