The loss of face would be pretty drastic, and wouldn't do good things to market uptake, which they're apparently managing to generate a bit of. Option 1: They actually ship the 645D, for real and serious. It takes the place of the "full frame" body in the lineup. Option 2: 2010 sees the alleged Samsung full-frame sensor ship in a Pentax body. Option 3: K mount or other EVIL teeny camera, Pentax abandons the DSLR field. Option 4: K-5 APS-C camera based on the K-7 body; visually almost indistinct. K-5 has a 15 MP shaved silicon sensor/other not used in commercial sensors yet tech sensor and demonstrates vastly (x2) improved dynamic range, coupled with 2,500 raw exposures per batter charge. I figure the likelihood goes 4,1,2,3. (Assuming 1 and 2 are _different_.) But, heh, the entrails are hazy; don't blame me if what we get is an eight kilo brick of titanium and glass certified to a depth of 1,200 m in salt water for a year. -- Graydon -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
