Take a picture of your local Tesco - there is an architectural style called Supermarket Vernacular. It's an attempt to make their depressing sheds look like something from days of yore by putting a silly little white clock tower on the roof.
Hah, we've got loads of that sort of thing here. That's a really good idea, though when you come to try and think of something mundane to photograph, suddenly everything seems more exotic and interesting :)
