Remember that rules are made to be broken.

Take all kinds of relectors so you can pick and choose on the day.
You can't use a light or reflector that you didn't bring.

A large reflector/diffuser/tent would be really useful for getting
full edge lighting on the neck and to pick out the subtle curves and
contours of the camera body, but don't overdo the face of the body or
you'll obliterate detail.  Small light sources/spots are useful for
giving a sparkle to the plated metal fixtures. Once again be
restrained, and avoid getting specular hotspots on the flat expanses
of the guitars.  Dark backgrounds work nicely with wood but don't lose
the edges in shadow.

Take a duster to whisk away lint and fluff right before each shot.
It's amazing how much dust your eye won't see but your camera will.
