The Leica X1 has created quite a stir on various boards and forums. Price is $2000. Optional extras include a grip and matched OVF. Only pre-production examples have been seen so far.
- Only negative report thus far is that writes to storage are a bit slower than expected; no discussion as yet of lens performance or image quality ... too early to tell for sure. - Nearly everyone who's looked at it likes the form factor and control layout ... have to say I'm very impressed with those aspects too. - Many are not happy it doesn't have interchangeable lenses ... that doesn't bug me so much: for the use-target of this camera, I could live with a wide-normal lens. I do wish it were an f/2 lens rather than f/2.8. Nice piece, design wise. A bit pricey.
