Thanks. A lot of the technique is summarized in the second half of my .signature (throwing away a lot of shots), and a lot of it is being willing to accept technical imperfection for a good shot. I was also amazed at how much difference a monopod makes when shooting below 1/30 second. > It must have been dark-dark-dark in there. The funny thing is that since the Friday dance usually requires shutter speeds of 1/6 to 1/10 second, being able to shoot 1/13 - 1/20 seems like a lot of light. I've found that for slow dancing, the threshold for getting decent shots seems to be about 1/20 of a second. Below that, and the keeper rate goes way down. This is why I'm so keen on cameras with high ISO performance. > > -bmw > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > [email protected] > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and > follow the directions. -- The first step is learning to take great photos, the second step is learning to throw away ones that are merely good.
