So I was thinking about the K-x the other night while taking photos of my 1.5 year old nephew trying to drink from his dad's empty bottle of Mike's Hard Lemonade, when it occurred to me that the door is open for Pentax to bring back all sorts of past model names for their future dSLRs.

The K-m and K-x, as we all know, reference the KM and KX from the days of yore, so what's to stop Pentax from making, say, a K-mx (retaining the "K-" to fit with the current naming standard). It could be the small, manual, barebones and super simple camera that many oldtimers yearn for. Then, if you put in most of the full-auto features (including a very basic autofocus system) in the same small body, you'd have something one might call a K-me or K-zx. Make a larger, semi-pro model that has interchangeable viewfinders and other accessories and call it the K-lx, make a fat & ugly model and call it the K-sfx, and make one that takes film and call it the K-istD (just for irony's sake).

None of these things will ever happen, of course, but it's fun to think about.
