All you need to do is make sure the body's electrical contacts are all shorted together. I couldn't get trap-focus to work with my 400/5.6 on an extension tube until I scraped the paint off the mount (which is a lot easier than fiddling with bits of metal foil). With a K adaptor you'll have to be sure that the lens is firmly mounted against the contacts, then I guess its the same deal... get rid of any paint on the lens mount where it makes contact with the body's electronic contacts.
