I'll provide a contrarian view. I've seen hundreds of bike races. I've
seen thousands of bike race photos. Many of them my own. They pretty
much all look the same. (The occasional exception stands out like the
John Francis shot from the Tour of CA from last (?) year.)
Your second set looks like pretty much what everyone else does. The
first set is quite special. Even though it was a salvage job.
I can't imagine anyone wanting to review an entire race (or heavens'
forbid a day of racing!) from this type of image, but everyone else
who has a P&S or a cellphone has those record shots. I say these were
a good save, made even better by the fact that the base images were
well composed to begin with.
BTW, for those who object to bike helmets or spandex or race jerseys
or sponsor advertising or any of the other accouterments of modern
bike racing, it is hard to imagine how you would be able to find any
bike racing shot to be to your liking...
