A bit of a nit, but I'd have  to take a look at a slightly lightened 
foreground. It needs a somber feel, no  question.

I  think your monitor runs dark, like mine. :-) I already lightened shadows 
in the  front part as much as I could without it ending up looking phoney, 
I thought.  There is some detail there, not a lot, but some.
