I see the connection between the grafitti and the signs in the
background, but I think they are separated by too much space.

Boris - I was goona say if you could lessen the contrast between the
sidewalk (i.e., lighten graffiti, darken walkway)
and the graffiti on the right it would work
better - I like the idea... is it anywhere you can return to easily to
get it just right?
