Hmmm? Maybe that's how it got broke, somebody tried to "rewind it".
There is a roller just to the right of the shutter. It is the metering
roller for the frame counter. If it gets turned opposite the direction of
film travel it breaks the frame counter, and thusly breaks the camera.
