The 16-50 would definitely be a nice addition. It's a super lens, as long as you get a good copy. However, the 12-24 might fill your wide angle needs a bit better. Of course it's a stop slower.

I sold both of my Miatas yesterday. I was paid for the daily driver,

The good news is that this should be enough money to keep me solvent
for a couple more months. I also keep having thoughts about consoling
my loss of toys by buying camera gear.

There's no way that I can justify getting a K-7, but I really don't
have any sharp glass wider than my 31, and I can't help but wonder if
I could find a good deal on a used 16-50....

In other news, I got my PFA50/1.4 serviced at Camera Repair and Audio
Service on Bascom Ave in San Jose. The problem was indeed a bunch of
sand and grit in it. Probably from shooting at the beach.

Luckily, none of my other lenses got it so badly.

I did make the mistake of not getting it cleaned immediately, but
still using it despite the problems. Carlos took it apart several
times to try to smooth it out, but the movement still has a couple of
"lumps" in it.

I guess that once I have a real income again, I'll just have to get
the 55/1.4. I was using my supertak 50/1.4 last weekend. Wide open, so
the lack of auto aperture was not a problem. It's amazing just how
wonderful those old lenses feel.

The first step is learning to take great photos,
the second step is learning to throw away ones that are merely good.
