I'm with you, Thibouille. I went with the Garmin eTrex Vista HCx for the mapping capabilities, but the basic idea is the same. I even stuck it in the pocket of my fire suit one time when racing to see if it would record any useful track layout and velocity data. Unfortunately, I was in a car with a metal roof, so it had a hard time staying locked onto the satellites. I'm going to try it again with the thing mounted somewhere it can see through the windows, if I can figure a secure way to mount it.
