There's not much colder than cold rain. Whenever people ask me what
the worst weather to cycle is, I unhesitatingly respond: "Under 5C
(about 40F?), heavy rain, wind."

Look forward to that PESO, once you've gotten the chill out of your bones.

The storm is apparently the remnant of Hurricane Ida. It seems kind of late in the season for hurricanes. It hit here on Veteran's day when most of the government - such as crews that clean up fallen trees out of the street.

The first police officer who responded was a little bitty girl. I doubt she weighed a hundred pounds soaking wet, which she was by the time she left, but it was left to her and another officer (guy about 150 lb) to do what they could to get that big branch out of the street, because the one emergency road crew on duty yesterday had bigger issues to deal with.

I'm having trouble getting the photos to upload to Flickr. I couldn't get my first effort to upload at all, so I went back and redid the jpegs in a smaller file size & Flickr is still stalling out during the upload.

I don't think it's Flickr's problem really, I think it's Time-Warner Cable Road Runner. I've had problems with a lot of sites in the last few months. Several times a day sites I regularly visit give messages "can't find the server". And it's not confined to only one site.

So, it may be a while.
