I was sitting at my desk reading PDML digests when I heard the tree fall. I made sure it hadn't fallen on my house, and then went down the street looking for it.

In the photo with the police car, you can see the driveway on the right. That's the neighbor whose back yard is behind my backyard. The house where the tree is located is in the next block down the street from my house.

In the "Big Tree Stump" photo, you can see where the tree hit the roof of the house when it broke off. The house has been empty for almost a year now, the owner lives out of town and has been coming around on weekends working on the house.

I had one window pane blown out by the storm, and I'll have to fix it once the weather clears. Window's about 15' off the ground, so I'll have to get a ladder out to remove the sash.

Sooner or later I've got to replace or rebuild all the window sashes in this house, and I guess now is as good a time as any to get started on that job. Rebuilding them costs less, and it's a job I know how to do and have the tools for.
