Used to be (2005 - 2006) even taking one community college course on Photoshop was enough to get you into the college bookstore where you could legitimately purchase the academic version at the student price. "College student" doesn't say anything about FULL TIME college student. Still, the upgrade price seems reasonable to me if you've got one of the qualifying earlier versions. Once you've got a legit copy, even if it's the academic version, you can upgrade to the current version as long as you stay within the window. Right now it looks like CS, CS2 and CS3 are all in that window for CS4. ============= Well, still in effect here. One can take an online 1 unit class and get the student discount. Which is why, for years, I keep trying to come up with courses to take. Still works out cheaper. This semester, though I ran out of things I hadn't taken.
