I am thinking that B&W is somewhat more to my  liking. You did play with 
the shadows on the color one, didn't  you?

I lightened them a tiny bit, not a lot. But  one can sort of tell when 
shadows have been lightened (because normally they  would probably be black). 
And the B&W conversion was done from the color,  after I had post processed 
it. I usually do it that way.
