I stumbled across these three 16-50 lenses for $668:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000NO5QV6/ref=sr_1_olp_5?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1259441727&sr=1-5&condition=used

They're very tempting, and I'll know in a few hours if I get the 20/1.8 that I have an offer on.

If it was K.E.H., I'd have no qualms whatsoever. Every item I ever bought from them was better than it was rated.

Don't know how Amazon's ratings compare to reality.

That said, it looks like the lenses were sold once and returned by the buyer for whatever reason. They say "cosmetic blemish ... Minor damage to outer box ..."; UPS doing their usual bang-up job.

If possible, order the second one down that only mentions the box being messed up. Or spring the extra $23 bucks for the bottom one that's "Like New".

From my point of view, the most important disclaimer is:

"All purchases eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy."
