Mick, it's called remote 'e', and seems to be generic for Pentax point-and-shoot cameras. It triggers the shutter, but not the AF. The battery is not user-replaceable, but is claimed to be good for 30,000 commands. It's so small, it fits in the pocket of the MZ-S's strap. Hope this helps.
