 Surely you can use a camera one-handed, particularly with your right hand :)

 I've been known to use a K2 with 15mm lens one-handed, a very heavy, very 
front heavy combination.  The other hand was shielding the lens from a just-
out-of-frame sun to eliminate flare.  And yes I had the strap around my neck.  
Not a lens I want to drop, and I have to wind the film somehow :)
