As a former denizen of the publishing industry, I have to blame their
publicists for my own personal tooth-grinder: "author" as a verb.
As in, "Joe Blow has authored five previous books."
Yeah, well, somebody had to editor those tomes, typesetter them,
proofreader them, printer them, warehouser them, and shipper them.
