"Can eat meat if you feel like it but don't have to" is "facultative omnivore", which category covers more or less every non-obligate-carnivore tetrapod alive, including cows and sheep. Humans are not *all* obligate omnivores as adults, but raising kids on no animal products, while possible in many cases, is really tough.
