Frank, if you want wide and fast (like in faster than f2.8 wide open) then your only choices are FA 35/2.0, FA* 24/2.0 and FA limited lenses, notably FA 31/1.8. But all three are pricey. You can also try to look for Sigma 20,24,28/1.8 lenses all of which are big and heavy.

Personally, I went for FA 20/2.8 that is being repaired right now (mechanical issues). I got a copy that was very sharp wide open. Writing in past tense because it will have to be seen if it is still sharp after the repairs.

But all these lenses are probably more expensive than DA 21/3.2 with only potential exception of FA 35/2.0.

If I want something really fast, I mount my A 50/1.2 and suffer from the relatively long focal length...
