I'm more annoyed by the fact that Apple claims much better battery quality for the current MacBooks with internal cells, but does not reflect this by any increased warranty - it's always limited to one year only, regardless of AppleCare, for manufacturing defects only.
as i understand it, each model has a standard against which the battery can be measured based on the number of charge cycles it has gone through; if it doesn't meet that standard, it is considered a defective battery replaceable under AppleCare; i've seen reports of people needing to press their case, and ultimately getting battery replacement under AppleCare for "weak" batteries, but these were for older models -- none of the unibody Macs with the integrated batteries are over a year old yet, so we'll have to see how it goes with those specific models
the iBook G4 is a little too old for this to matter, though -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
