It gives you a sense of how old it may be, whether it may have the new
or old shutter box, and so on. The questions have to be taken in
context, and the answers weighed against one another. For example, the
seller may not know about the new or old shutters, but if the camera has
a 535**** serial number, it's a newer model.

The questions were put together on the assumption that the person
interested in purchasing an LX might now something about the camera, and
are questions that I, as somewhat familiar with the LX, have asked
various sellers over time. With that in mind, the questions make a lot
of sense. For those interested in an LX, and who don't know much about
the camera, I'd suggest visiting Rob Studdert's site:

http://members.ozemail.com.au/~distudio/thepentaxlx.html

and the Classic SLR site:

http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/pentaxlx/index.htm

as well as Boz's site

http://www.BDimitrov.de/kmp/

to get a better understanding of the camera and the system.
